Bhaja Masala

What is Bhaja Masala ?
BHAJA MASALA is an essential spice mix in the Bengali kitchen , which is not something that is readily available at stores. It is a unique blend of spices , prepared by roasting the spices at very low heat till you get a strong spice aroma. Then cool and grind to a fine powder.
Ingredients
  • Cumin Seeds – 1 tbsp
  • Coriander Seeds – 1 tbsp
  • Carom Seeds – 1 tsp
  • Dry whole red chili – 6
Instructions
Dry roast whole red chili , whole cumin seeds, whole coriander seeds and whole carom seeds in a small pan on low-medium heat for 3-5 minutes or until you will get a nice toasted aroma from the spices. Let it cool down and then dry grind to a fine powder. It can be stored for 2-3 months in an airtight container.
